With over 33,000 members worldwide, ASIS International is the largest and pre-eminent world-wide organization for security professionals including managers and directors of security,. ASIS international is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programmes and materials that focus on both the fundamentals and the most recent advancements in security management.
By providing members and the security community with access to a full range of programs and services, and by publishing the monthly magazine "Security Management" which focuses strictly on the issues and concerns of security, ASIS leads the way for advanced and improved security performance.

IN THE UK, Chapter 208 is the largest chapter of the European Region with over 650 UK members. The Chapter meets five times a year, with guest speakers giving a full day's programme on a huge variety of security subjects. Members also meet socially for cross channel trips, a golf day and an annual dinner dance.

EPIC (Ex Police in Commerce) was founded in 1979 by the late Arthur Rees CBE QPM MA DL, formerly Chief Constable of Staffordshire. Membership is open to police officers from Home Office Forces who, on retirement, are engaged in the sphere of security within industry and commerce. EPIC now has 498 members whose ranks when serving ranged form Constable to Chief Constable. Many are self-employed, owning their own companies or providing consultancy services and others are leading practitioners in their fields and employed by major companies. The Security Institute provides a programme that addresses the issue of professional validation for security professionals. The programme is designed to assess security management experience, academic qualifications, vocational qualifications and contributions to the security profession. It establishes an independent professional validation board, which will validate applications made by individuals seeking to attain a grading in the Security Institute.
